The True Meaning of Integrity And Why We Need More Of It

Bildergebnis für true meaning of integrity and why we need more of it
Integrity is so much more than what its definition leaves so openly. It is something most people just do not truly understand.

By definition, it is adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. But to be honest, integrity is not something people often have. It is doing the right thing when others don’t see it as the right thing. It is staying true to your morals and principles even though they may not be as convenient as you want them to be.

It is not being aggressive towards others and it is being able to apologize for things other people might not think even deserve an apology. A person with integrity would give everyone the benefit of the doubt when things are unclear and highlight the accomplishments of others all the whole downplaying their own. Integrity is an important quality we are currently lacking in our modern society.

People with integrity are always ready to give credit where it is due and they do not waste anyone’s time. They are consistent even when the situations push them not to be. They make a choice each and every day to be a leader and to greet everyone from the same point of view. You cannot wake up one morning and decide that you want to show a little integrity, either you have it or you have to work at it. It is not as easy as most try to make it out to be.

In order to have true integrity, you must first be whole on the inside. If you are lacking something then your integrity will not come forth. You cannot leave pieces of yourself behind and you also have to be your true self all the time. Being a person with integrity is extremely hard.

You have to learn how to make decisions that reflect who you are and your values. You have to be true to yourself regardless of what others are saying and you cannot just ignore the impact you have on the people in your life. Being someone with integrity means being truthful, honest, and leading in the ways you know you are supposed to.

We have to do so much more than you think. You can be who you want to be as long as you are being authentic.
